I was looking forward to at least one day this year when our streets weren't cluttered with day laborers who allow themselves to be exploited by tax-cheating contractors.

I was looking forward to one day this year to remind me of how the quality of our lives used to be. I was looking forward to one day this year when you could not see someone urinating in public. I was looking forward to one day this year when female passers-by weren't cat called.

BUT I WAS DISSAPPOINTED.
